The Indian men’s team, which also includes veteran archer Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav, showcased their skills with a solid overall performance. Tarundeep finished 14th with 674 points, while Pravin ended in 39th place with 658 points.

The team collectively secured the third seed, ensuring a direct entry into the quarterfinals, where they will face either Turkey or Colombia.

Competitive Landscape

The ranking rounds saw fierce competition, with South Korea’s Woojin Kim and Jedeok Kim taking the top two spots, followed by Germany’s Florian Unruh in third.

Dhiraj’s upcoming match in the Round of 64 will be against Adam Li from the Czech Republic, while Tarundeep will take on Tom Hall of Great Britain, and Pravin will face Wenchao Kao of China.

This year marks a significant milestone for Indian archery, as it is the first time since the London 2012 Olympics that the country has qualified a full quota of six archers.

The women’s team, featuring Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat, and Bhajan Kaur, also performed well, securing a spot in the quarterfinals with a fifth seed in the mixed team event.

As the archery events continue, the Indian team will look to capitalize on their strong start. The men’s team rounds are scheduled for July 29, and with favorable draws, they are poised to make a significant impact in the competition.
