The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) is the world’s richest cricket board and made a big announcement on Saturday to honor all athletes who raised the Indian name at the world’s biggest stage. Jay Shah, the Secretary, announced on Twitter that BCCI would be giving INR 1 Cr. to Neeraj Chopra, INR 50 Lakh each to Mirabai Chanu & Ravi Dahiya, INR each to Bronze medalists, and INR 1.25 Cr. to Men’s Hockey Team.
This is not the first time the BCCI has come forward to help the athletes. In June this year, before the Olympics, the BCCI donated a whopping INR 10 crore to Indian Olympic Association to support all Indian athletes competing at the Tokyo Olympics.
