Manchester United vs Wolves

The football fans present at the Molineux Stadium, which is the home ground of Wolves, had a fantastic outing. They were treated to some box-office footballing action as a goal-fest had unfurled on 2nd February 2024.

Manchester United edged past Wolves 4-3 in a match that went right down to the wire. Erik Ten Hag and co. are now in the 7th position of the points table of Premier League 2023-24 with 11 wins in 22 matches.

The Red Devils ended their 2-match unbeaten run in the Premier League and would be looking to rack up maximum points in the remaining matches in this season. Marcus Rashford, who was in the spotlight earlier this week for the wrong reasons, opened the goalscoring account for Erik Ten Hag and co.

Rasmus Hojlund netted the 2nd goal for Manchester United at the Molineux Stadium and the scoreline at the stroke of halftime read 2-0 in favour of the away team.

Bur United’s defensive frailties continued as they ended up conceding 3 goals in the 2nd half. While Pablo Sarabia had scored the first goal for the Wolves via a penalty corner, Max Kilman scored the decisive 2nd goal in the 85th minute.

Notably, Scott McTominay had scored a goal, minutes after the penalty and had brought about the 3rd goal for Manchester United.

After Pedro Neto scored a minute during injury time, the match was brought to an even-stevens position. But the young and dynamic Kobbie Mainoo showed everyone as to why he is regarded so highly.

Mainoo had a mazy run just outside the penalty box and after nutmegging Max Kilman, he took a crack on goal from the edge of the penalty box. The ball went past the custodian of Wolves and the away fans started celebrating this insane goal.

Every Manchester United lover had a big relief on their faces and this was indeed a special win for them. Sir Alex Ferguson, the former legendary manager of United, too was present in the stadium and he had a big and bright smile on his face.

With this edge-of-the-seat thriller of a win, Erik Ten Hag and co. complete a double over the Wolves. Way back in August 2023, Manchester United had defeated them, 1-0. Raphael Varane had netted the goal for the 13-time Premier League winners at the iconic and prestigious, Old Trafford.
