Pakistan will lock horns with Australia in the 2nd ODI of the three-match ODI series. Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host this fixture on Thursday, March 31. Australia emerged on top of the hosts in the 1st ODI with an easy 88 run win after a dominant performance from Travis Head and Adam Zampa.
Batting first Australia scored 317 where Travis Head laid the foundation with his 101 off 72. He set the tone right and put Pakistan under a lot of pressure in the opening 25 overs of the game. After 20 overs, Australia found themselves well placed at 138 for 1 with Pakistan under pressure after opting to bowl. Supporting Travis was Ben McDermott who competed for his fifty before being run out in the 33rd over. Green and Sean Abbott also managed to give some late impetus to the innings scoring 50 in the final five overs.
In the chase, Imam ul Haq smashed an equally impressive 103 off 96 supported by Babar Azam’s 57 off 72. But after the dismissal of these two the who team faltered in single-digit scores. The hosts were knocked over at 225 by the end of 45 overs. Adam Zampa took a four-wicket haul while Mitchell Swepson and Travis Head bagged two wickets apiece.
