Letsile Tebogo of Botswana won their country’s first gold medal at the Olympics as he bagged the gold medal at the Men’s 200m race at Paris. He defeated USA’s top athlete Noah Lyles, who had to settle for the bronze medal at this event.
Botswana have participated in every Summer Olympic Games since 1980 and won their first gold medal in Paris 2024. It was most certainly a proud moment for the African nation. It was also the first time that an African athlete has bagged a gold medal in the Men’s 200m race at the Olympics.
2. Saint Lucia (Women’s 100m)
It was a proud moment for the small island of St Lucia as Julien Alfred won the Women’s 100m race at the Paris Olympics 2024. With a timing of 10.72 seconds, she lit up the entire Olympics with her terrific athletic prowess.
Alfred also won a silver medal for St Lucia in the Women’s 200m race and etched her name in the history books of her country.
3. Dominica (Women’s Triple Jump)
Noeliva LaFond brought enormous amounts of happiness and joy to the country of Dominica at the Paris Olympics 2024 as he became the first athlete from Dominica to win a medal at the Olympics.
She topped this massive feat with a gold medal, thereby etching her name in gold at the highest-stage of the game.
