On the second of the first Test of Ind vs WI when India resumed the game against West Indies, Rishabh Pant was at the crease together with Ravindra Jadeja. Unfortunately for the India team, the West Indies were able to abolish Pant at the early hour of the match, which reduced the Indian team  to 207-7. Hence, Ishant Sharma joined Jadeja on field as the both of them played 60 runs for the 8th Wicket, where Jadeja was the one acting as the aggressor in the duo.

Jadeja made a half-century which almost made India reach 300. However, Jason Holder took the wicket from him as the Indian were not able to make their innings above 297. Meanwhile, Ishant Sharma cannot be left behind, as he displayed his heroics by playing a very important innings of 19 runs which lasted 62 balls bowled. Besides, Ishant was able to over live fast deliveries that the Caribbean pacers played. Before now, Ajinkya Rahane revived India from the breakdown by playing a good knock of 81 runs.

It was a good omen for the West Indies during the first innings as they had a good start, when John Campbell and Kraigg Brathwaite played an opened duo which put on 36 runs altogether. But, after Campbell left with an active knock of 23 runs, Brooks entered and made his way to the crease.

The Indian team got their way to stop  the West Indies from 36/0 to 50/0 when they hurriedly took quick wickets. Moreover, Roston Chase tried to help the West Indies maintain their innings by playing a soft inning, and consequently, the West Indies were able to 130 /4.

As team Indian side took 4 down in just space of 14 overs and the day closing score of day 2 was 189 runs and there was only 2 wickets left. Chase Hetmyer, Hope and Kemar Roach taken by Ishant Sharma, plus, earlier wicket of the Brathwaite was also named to Ishant.

The IND vs WI match ended with 189 runs onboard and just two wickets in hand for the home team as Ishant Sharma gave the Indian team a hand from his fierce attack which scalp 4 wickets inside the space 14 overs. Ishant also took Braithwaite’s wicket. Then he later took the wickets of Shai Hope, Royston Chase, Shimron Hetnyer and Kemar Roach, and that was how he completed his five-for.  However,  the match ended with India on a high as Ishant Sharma, the right arm fast bowler, got a hand from other Indian blower.
