Even though the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team has lost their first 2 matches, there have been a few positives. One of the positives was the emergence of Shreyanka Patil, who is a young all-rounder.

The all-rounder has been shown faith by skipper Smriti Mandhana and the team management. She has been given crucial tasks in the first two games of RCB in the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL). In the game against the Gujarat Giants (GG), Patil absorbed the pressure and bagged 2 wickets.

The youngster who hails from Karnataka is just 20 years of age. At such a young age, Patil has done a good job of standing out among the greats. She is also getting to rub shoulders with some greats of the game. This would prompt her to perform well in the coming games. All-in-all, this is definitely a huge learning curve for the young lad.

The premier women’s ODI tournament of India, the 2022-23 Senior Women ODI Tournament saw Shreyanka Patil rise up to the occasion. She finished as the joint second-highest wicket-taker with 3 wickets and stamped her authority in the tournament. This definitely played a big role in RCB purchasing her at the WPL 2023 auctions.

The versatile all-rounder has admitted that she is a big fan of the RCB franchise and has always extended her support to the team. She was 6 years of age when IPL commenced in 2008 and she has been faithfully supporting the Red and Bold franchise since then.

Patil is also a big fan of Virat Kohli and like the legendary Indian men’s cricketer, Shreyanka Patil too embodies the spirit of fearlessness and boldness. If she keeps performing like this, she will soon receive an India cap.

RCB next lock horns with UP Warriorz on 10th March 2023. The match is slated to begin at 7:30 PM (IST) and will be played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The Smriti Mandhana-led RCB side would be hoping to exorcise the ghosts of the previous 2 games and would be keen to stage a comeback in WPL 2023.
