Indian batsmen did admirably commendable job in the 1st innings of the match. They scored 326 runs in 1st innings and took a lead of 132 runs over the hosts. Australia was very well relied on world’s number 1 batsmen Steve Smith in batting. But, the right-handed batsman was dismissed by the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah quite brilliantly.
Australia got off to a worse possible start in their 2nd innings. Joe Burns was dismissed by Umesh Yadav. The Aussie opener failed to cope up against the swing and ball went past the bat taking a thick edge into the gloves of Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.

Later on, Marnus Labuschagne failed to click a good knock and got out to Ravichandran Ashwin. The right handed batter scored 28 runs and looked well settled before throwing his wicket away in the 2nd innings. At number 4, Steve Smith came out to bat for Australia and fans had expected a better performance from the talented individual. But he failed living upto the expeectations of the Aussie fans.
Steve Smith was in scintilliating form with the bat in ODI series. But since then he has struggled in every given opportunity against the Indian bowling unit. In the 2nd innings, he had to pay price for his unorthodox batting style. Jasprit Burmrah bowled a short delivery against Aussie batsman, who shuffled a bit towards off. Meanwhile, the ball hit his thigh and got hit into the stumps.
Bumrah and other filders were not aware of the bails getting dislodged from the stumps. But, eagle eye Ajinkya Rahane saw the bail falling only for teammates to cherish over the dismissal of World’s Number 1 Test Batsman.
Steve Smith’s batting form has become a big headache for Australia. He has scored only 10 runs so far in 2 Test matches. At the moment Australia is struggling at a score of 133 runs for a loss of six wickets and the clouds of a big defeat are hurling over the heads of Australia.
