Neeraj Chopra is a household name now after his heroics at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Panipat-born Neeraj is just 23-year-old, became the first Indian to win a gold in athletics, and ended India’s long drought for Gold Medal after the 2008 Beijing Olympics. After Neeraj Chopra’s victory in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, India was on its feet. Whether a celebrity or a normal person, everyone was chanting Neeraj’s name on social media.

Chopra’s performance at the games was impeccable. While his first throw was 87.03 meters, he improved with an 87.58-meter toss in his second attempt, which was too good for other opponents. There were many nervy moments, especially when Czech’s Jakub Vadlejch reached 86.67-meter mark in his 5th attempt, but after he failed his 6th and last attempt, that’s when the country realized the gold was on its way back.
