Cheteshwar Pujara hits out on critics, Says “It’s just the outside noise” that is unnecessary

Date:

Cheteshwar Pujara is again back in his top form with the bat. He scored a gritty knock of 53 runs studded with 10 boundaries against South Africa in the 2nd innings. And, post game’s day he hit out on critics in the most generous way.

The right-handed batsman took the crease after they lost their in-form opener and skipper KL Rahul at the score of 24. Pujara had the crucial task of scoring runs without giving away his wicket. He brilliantly did his job with the willow and scored determined 53 runs that helped Team India in posting a decent total in front of the host. He also stitched a magnificent partnership of 105 runs with Ajinkya Rahane (58) for the 3rd wicket.

Cheteshwar Pujara takes a strong dig on outsiders

The fifty against South Africa would have certainly released the pressure from the shoulders of Cheteshwar Pujara, who was going through a poor run in red-ball cricket. Post-Day-3, the Indian middle-order batsman said that team management always had faith in him. As per him, the outsiders were making unnecessary noise. He added that the captain and players always backed him to perform well in the tough time.

“The team management has been always supportive, so I would say it’s just the outside noise. The coaching staff, the captain, everyone is behind all the players,” Pujara was quoted as saying to the reporters on Wednesday.

Pujara mentioned that there are times when players don’t get runs. But, they should stay focused and follow the right process in daily life. This makes things very easy for a player to make a strong comeback. He looked optimistic that everyone might get to see good knocks from him and other batsmen going ahead in the South Africa tour.

“And we’ve been working hard, there are times when you don’t get too many runs but, the important thing as a cricketer is about following the right routine, having good work ethics, and keep working on your game,” he stated.

“Because there are times when you’ll not get runs, but if you follow the right processes, you get runs on the board. So, this is what has happened today and, I am sure this form will continue and we’ll get big scores in the next game as well,” he added.
