‘It Takes Time to Change People’s Perception in India’: Rishabh Pant after getting success in international cricket

Date:

Rishabh Pant had a tough time establishing himself in the national side. He struggled a lot in finding his best rhythm with the bat and gloves after taking his gloves on in the blue jersey. However, now, he has become an integral part of Team India across all the formats. And, Rishabh Pant feels he is now enjoying every bit of his time in the national jersey.

The southpaw played a brilliant knock in Australia and played a key role in making India win their 2nd consecutive Test series down under against Australia. He is currently leading Delhi Capitals in the ongoing Indian Premier League season and has proved his mantle in every respective department.

Rishabh Pant feels he is currently batting in his zone

Talking about the last three years, Rishabh said that he has improved as a wicketkeeper after struggling in the early phase of his cricket career with the national side. He added that it always takes time to change the perception of people and luckily it is changing with time.

“One satisfying aspect has been my wicketkeeping. I wanted to do that (improve). People are saying, Oh, you have changed as a wicketkeeper, you have improved a lot in the past two years. That is what I wanted to hear. I was working hard on this for the past two to three years, but it takes time to change people’s perceptions in India. That was one of my main goals.”

Rishabh Pant asserted that he is currently in his zone of batting and will continue to follow the right process in order to do good playing for Team India.

“I am in a happy zone with my batting. I am not thinking too much about what I have done or what I will do. I am just trusting my process and following the path I have laid by myself,” he said.

Rishabh Pant has donned a national jersey for Team India in 30 Tests, 24 ODIs, and 43 T20Is and scored more than 2500 runs at a good average. Let’s see if he can make Delhi Capitals win their maiden IPL title or not.
