Cricket Career
Domestic Career: Made his debut for the Bengal State team in 2018. He started off in the List A format during the 2018/19 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 20 September 2018, making his debut against the Jammu and Kashmir sides.
Following this, he made his debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in January 2019 and his Ranji Trophy debut in the next season as well. Since then, Ahmed has become a regular for the state team. He has picked up 45 wickets and scored 779 runs for Bengal in 16 First-class games. Whereas, he has 24 wickets and 662 runs in 26 List-A games. In October 2019, he was named in India A’s squad for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy. He scored 27 runs and picked one wicket during his maiden first-class cap versus Hyderabad.
In January 2021, against Hyderabad, he became the seventh player from Bengal and the first since India pacer Mohammed Shami to win a Ranji Trophy hat-trick
IPL career: Was picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore before the 2020 IPL auctions. Since then, the all-rounder has been featured in 18 games for the Red and Black.
He made his IPL Debut against Rajasthan Royals in 2020 but he played just 2 games and had an uneventful season as picked up just 2 wickets. The 2021 IPL season was also not memorable for him as he scored 59 runs and picked up 7 wickets in 11 games. Having again been signed by RCB, he would be hoping to do better in 2023.
