England To Tour Bangladesh In March 2023, Complete Schedule, Venue, All Details

Date:

In March 2023, England will tour Bangladesh for ODI and T20 Series. Beginning on March 1, the two teams are slated to play three ODIs and the same number of T20Is. This is the first-ever bilateral T20I series between England vs Bangladesh.

After their tour of South Africa, the current ODI and T20 champions are expected to travel to the subcontinent.

Prior to the ODIs, England will also play in two warm-up matches. When England last visited Bangladesh, the hosts won the ODI series 2-1. The 2021 T20 World Cup was to be preceded by a tour to Bangladesh by the world champions. However, due to a scheduling issue caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, both boards mutually decided to postpone the tour.

There’s no doubt that the next tour will benefit both parties. The Super League, a tournament to determine which teams receive direct entry into the 2023 World Cup, includes the three-match ODI series. However, Bangladesh and England have already earned qualifications.

The defending champions could need a strong performance in subcontinental circumstances to get ready for their title defense at the India-hosted ODI World Cup in 2023.

1st ODI: Bangladesh v England, 1 March, SBNCS, Dhaka

We expect a tough challenge

Clare Connor, ECB Interim Chief Executive Officer, said: “It is exciting that the England Men’s white-ball squad will return to Bangladesh for the first time since 2016. The atmosphere generated in Dhaka and Chattogram for this eagerly-anticipated tour will be fantastic.

“There is a great passion for cricket across Bangladesh, and we expect a tough challenge against a side who have an excellent record in home conditions.”
