Danielle Wyatt, an English cricketer, engaged to her fiance Georgie Hodge on Thursday (March 2). The star player announced her engagement to Hodge on Twitter. Hodge is the head of CAA Base’s women’s football programme. Wyatt is still in South Africa as evidenced by the fact that her tweet was sent from Cape Town.
Wyatt played on the England cricket team that advanced to the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup semifinals. The cricketer’s Twitter post was captioned, “Mine forever.” Wyatt will take a short break in the coming months.
After losing to the hosts South Africa in a gripping thriller, England was unable to go to the T20 WC final. From June 22 to July 18, England will host Australia for a single Test match as well as a three-match ODI and T20I series. The cricketer vented his frustration on Twitter after being passed over for the competition. Wyatt, the second-highest run-scorer for the England women’s cricket side in T20Is, expressed her “heartbreak” after her bid for the WPL 2023 failed to find a buyer.
“Dreamt of playing in the WPL. Heartbroken. Congrats to all who got picked up. India is a wonderful place to play cricket,” Wyatt wrote on Twitter.
Wyatt will be back in action soon
Wyatt has 1776 runs and 27 wickets to her name in the 50-over format after playing for England in 102 ODIs and 143 T20Is. In the shortest format, she has 46 wickets taken and 2369 runs scored.
In June or July, Wyatt will play his subsequent premier league match versus Australia. From June 22 to July 18, England will host Australia for a single Test, three ODIs, and as many T20Is. She has never played in a Test match and is unlikely to make the red-ball squad.
She will compete in the Women’s Hundred, which will be played from August 1 to 27 after the England-Australia series. Following The Hundred, England will host Sri Lanka for three T20 Internationals and as many ODIs.
