Major League Cricket: From Unmukt Chand To Harmeet Singh, Full List Of Indian Cricketers Picked In Draft

United States of America’s (USA) cricket league, the Major League Cricket has been making quite a number of waves in the cricketing fraternity.

Some top-flight cricketers will be involved in this league and this help generate a lot of revenue from broadcast rights and sponsors.

The draft of the Major League Cricket witnessed some big names being involved.

Marcus Stoinis, Quinton De Kock, Wandindu Hasaranga and Aaron Finch are all going to be a part of this exciting cricketing league in USA.

Apart from these international stars, there also are a lot of Indians who will be playing in this league.

They are essentially players who have retired from international cricket and all forms of domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In this article, we take a look at the full list of Indian cricketers picked in the draft of the Major League Cricket:

1. Unmukt Chand (LA Knight Riders)

Perhaps the most famous Indian in this list, Unmukt Chand was the World Cup winning captain of the Indian U-19 team in the 2012 U-19 World Cup.

He has also played for Delhi Daredevils (now known as Delhi Capitals) in the IPL.

Chand has also played in the Big Bash League (BBL).

Unmukt Chand will be plying his trade for the Los Angeles Knight Riders team in the Major League Cricket and will be playing as a top-order batter for the side.

2. Tajinder Singh (San Francisco Unicorns)

Tajinder Singh has played in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings).

He is an all-rounder and was born in Rajasthan. Singh will be playing for the San Francisco Unicorns team.

3. Sarabjit Ladda (MI New York)

Leg-break bowler Sarabjit Ladda will be representing the Mumbai Indians New York team in the upcoming Major League Cricket.

The 36-year-old, who has moved to the United States now, has previously played in the IPL for teams such as Kolkata Knight Riders, Gujarat Lions and Delhi Daredevils.

4. Smit Patel (San Francisco Unicorns)

29-year-old wicket-keeper batter Smit Patel was a part of the Indian team in the U-19 World Cup in 2012.

He has also represented Gujarat in the domestic setup of India and will now be playing for the San Francisco Unicorns team in the Major League Cricket.

5. Milind Kumar (Team Texas)

Milind Kumar will be playing for Team Texas in this cricket league of USA.

The spin-bowling all-rounder has the previous experience of playing in the IPL.

He has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils.

6. Saurabh Netravalkar (Washington Freedom)

Saurabh Netravalkar was the skipper of the Indian U-19 side in the U-19 World Cup of 2010.

He had represented Mumbai for the first time in the Ranji Trophy in the 2013-14 season but was unable to leave a mark in India.

7. Harmeet Singh (Seattle Orcas)

Harmeet Singh will be plying his trade in the Major League Cricket for Seattle Orcas, which is co-owned by IPL franchise Delhi Capitals.

Singh was a part of the IPL 2009 winning squad of Deccan Chargers but failed to make a mark in the Indian cricketing arena.

He also worked as an Inspector of GST and Customs in Chandigarh.

8. Chaitanya Bishnoi (San Francisco Unicorns)

Chaitanya Bishnoi was best known for being a part of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2018 and 2019.

He was a part of the MS Dhoni led side which won the IPL in 2018 and will now be playing in the San Francisco Unicorns team.

Bishnoi is a batting all-rounder and can time the ball really well.
