IPL 2023: 3 Talking Points Of KKR vs LSG

Date:

Whenever Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are involved in an Indian Premier League (IPL) game, there is a rollercoaster of emotions for everyone. There is ecstasy, joy and at the same time, there is doom and gloom for the fans.

Once again in this IPL 2023 game between KKR and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), there was an overflow of emotions. The match was a nail-biting contest and it went right down to the wire.

LSG kept their nerves and eventually won the game by 1 run, breaking several KKR fans’ hearts and of course, Rinku Singh’s heart!

In this article, we take a look at the 3 talking points of the KKR vs LSG game that took place in Eden Gardens:

1. Rinku Singh almost pulls of a miraculous chase!

Once again, Rinku Singh was the heartbeat of all the KKR fans. He was at his usual best and almost won the game for KKR. The batter from Uttar Pradesh once again activated his beast mode and almost tilted the game in favour of KKR in the last over.

In the penultimate over of the game, Singh smoked Naveen-ul-Haq for 20 runs and infused a ray of positivity in the KKR camp. In the last over too when it was 18 runs needed off 3 balls, he scored 16 runs and fell short by a small margin.

2. Lucknow Super Giants qualify

While KKR were eliminated from the playoffs race, Lucknow Super Giants qualified for the playoffs. They will be flying to Chennai and will be facing either Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) or Mumbai Indians (MI) in the eliminator.

LSG would be pretty happy with themselves and skipper Krunal Pandya has done a terrific job as the stand-in-skipper. He has won 3 games on the trot now and the Lucknow team will be taking this momentum forward into the playoffs.

3. Nicholas Pooran’s fiery knock in the middle

LSG were staring at a below-par score when they were 5 down for just 73 balls. Nicholas Pooran led the charge for the comeback and ensured LSG reach a fighting total. The West Indian power-hitter smashed 58 runs in just 30 balls and made the game interesting.

Pooran’s innings was packed with 4 fours and 5 sixes and he had a terrific strike-rate of 193.33. His form has been impeccable in IPL 2023 and he will be a key cog in the wheels of LSG in the playoffs.
