Arshdeep Singh has been one of India’s best players in 2022 and has literally been a priceless gem that has been unearthed. After a couple of stand-out Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons, Arshdeep Singh made his India debut in July 2022 in the T20I series. Now, the apex body of world cricket, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominees for the ICC Emerging Player of the Year award 2022. This award was first brought to the fore in 2004 and India’s Irfan Pathan had bagged the award. Arshdeep Singh has been named as one of the nominees of this award.

Arshdeep Singh is a left-arm seamer and a multi-dimensional bowler and this could be one of the major reasons as to why he is awarded the ICC Emerging Player of the Year award in 2022.
2. He shouldered a lot of responsibility in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022
As India’s bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 because of a recurrent back injury, Arshdeep Singh donned the bowling spearhead’s role in the Indian cricket team. And boy, he loves responsibilities! Arshdeep Singh matured into a responsible bowler in Australia, picking up 6 wickets with a superb economy of 7.80. His spell against Pakistan in India’s first Super12 game is remembered fondly by a lot of people. Having made his T20I debut in July 2022, Arshdeep Singh has played 21 T20I internationals since then. He enjoys a stupendous average of 18.1 and a decent enough economy of 8.17. This can also be one of the reasons why he is awarded with the ICC Emerging Player award 2022 by ICC.
