IPL 2023: 3 Teams Who Can Target Former SRH Player Nicholas Pooran At Auction

Date:

Nicholas Pooran received the highest salary of his IPL career as SRH placed the highest bid in IPL history, making him the most expensive West Indian. At the IPL 2022 mega-auction, he was purchased by SRH for a hefty sum of 10.75 crore. When he couldn’t live up to his price tag, the franchise let him go without a second thought.

Pooran managed a total of 306 in the 14 games he played in the IPL this year, with just two half-centuries to his credit. Other teams may be interested in the Caribbean left-hander now that Pooran has been released by SRH

Pooran, one of cricket’s most proficient strikers, has the ability to win games in the shortest format. Additionally, in addition to being a top wicketkeeper, he is a multifaceted player who clubs long to have on their teams. Look at the three teams that might target Pooran at the next IPL 2023 auction.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

In IPL 2022, Mitchell Marsh played No. 3 for Delhi Capitals. The player, though, fell short of expectations. If the team targets Pooran at the IPL auctions, it wouldn’t be shocking. Pooran is player who could fill this position.

A brilliant plan would be to place Pooran at No. 3 in a Top 4 that also included Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, and David Warner. The others would then be free to use their strongest aggression. The Warner-Pooran team would be strengthened even more by their reunion.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Sheldon Jackson, Baba Indrajith, and Sam Billings were all released by KKR prior to the auction, which presents a chance for Pooran, who can keep wickets and strengthen the middle order.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who KKR acquired from the Gujarat Titans in a trade, is the only wicketkeeper on their squad (GT).

Even though the Kolkata-based franchise’s acquisition of Pooran will significantly close a deficit, it won’t be as simple for them because they have been left with the lowest purse value for the upcoming auction at 7.05 crore.

Gujarat Titans (GT)

The defending champion Gujarat Titans are a young team that may try to sign Pooran. The two wicketkeepers for the Hardik Pandya-led team, Wriddhiman Saha and Matthew Wade, didn’t exactly exude confidence.

Pooran could solve GT’s wicket-keeping problems as well as strengthen their middle order, which already features superstars like Pandya and David Miller.
