Cricket fans are worried as news of injuries and questions surrounding some of the key players in the IPL 2023 season have already begun to surface.
Here is a list of injured and doubtful players for IPL 2023, providing details on each player and the current status of their injury.
IPL 2023 Injury Concern: Top 5 players to miss this season
Jasprit Bumrah – MI
Jasprit Bumrah, a pacer for the Mumbai Indians, is a top player in IPL 2023 injury list.
Bumrah has been absent from the international cricket scene for some time. Since August 2022, Bumrah hasn’t competed for India.
Due to a back injury, he was unable to compete in the Asia Cup and subsequently the T20 World Cup.
MI has not yet named a bowler’s replacement.
Rishabh Pant – DC
The 2023 season would be missed by the Delhi Capitals captain owing to a car accident that occurred on December 31, 2022, the previous year.
Australian David Warner will be the Capitals’ manager while he is away.
Will Jacks – RCB
A rising star for England named Will Jacks will not participate in the IPL 2023 because of a muscular injury he just sustained while representing England in Bangladesh.
Jacks will be replaced by Michael Bracewell of New Zealand, according to the RCB.
In December of last year, RCB purchased him at the IPL 2023 mini-auction for Rs 3.2 crores.
Shreyas Iyer – KKR
KKR captain Shreyas Iyer will have back surgery and would thus not play in the upcoming season.
He has opted not to have surgery and is now wrapping up his recovery so that he may participate in the IPL’s second half. His return date has not yet been announced.
Jonny Bairstow – PBKS
Jonny Bairstow of the Punjab Kings will probably miss the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season as he recovers from his freak leg injury.
He is unable to fly to India for the IPL since the ECB has not issued him the NOC essential to compete in franchise-based contests.
The ECB does not want to gamble with his fitness prior to the Ashes and the World Cup.
