With every popular eSports game comes the possibility of a sew of gamers who incorporate cheats and hacks to level up their gameplay. The seriousness with which Riot Games views cheating or the use of any suspicious software that can affect Valorant’s gameplay is widely known. No person, be it a casual gamer or professional streamer is immune to this seriousness.
Naman “Mortal” Mathur, one of the most well-known gaming celebrities in India, received a permanent ban on his VALORANT account on January 25. Mortal was shocked to learn that Riot Games had banned his Valorant account.
Mortal’s Valorant Account Ban
In a recent livestream, Mortal discussed the matter and claimed that someone who had played a game extremely early in the day, around 7:00 AM, had hacked his account. He stated that this was the reason for it being suspended by Riot Games.
Mortal has submitted an appeal to the developers after learning that his Valorant account can no longer be utilised. He is asking them to look into the situation and lift the account’s permanent ban. Speaking of this problem, Mortal also opened Valorant on his livestream to display a notification labelled “Permanent Suspension” that explained that the user would not be allowed to enter the game because of the usage of forbidden third-party software.
Mortal admitted that one of his moderators does have access to his Valorant account when asked whether anybody else uses it. However, he is unsure if that person has played any games since he last used the account. Mortal asserted that he had complete faith in his moderator and that this could not have been done by him. Regardless, everything appears to lead to this one particular game.
Yash “Viper” Soni, a renowned BGMI player and content creator, discovered that someone else had supposedly played a game from his account with random teammates. He instantly looked for Mortal’s Valorant on his friend list to look at his “Played Games” history.
Will Mortal get his Valorant account back?
The popular streamer challenged this decision on his own behalf, but so far, nothing has changed. The outcome of the decision, which would require Mortal to open a new Valorant account, is uncertain at this time. We will know soon if the appeal will go through and Riot Games will accept it. If it does not, it will be extremely disheartening for both Mortal and his fans to see his hard work go in vain.
