Australia and New Zealand will be jointly hosting this tournament and this promises to be an absolute crackerjack of a tournament. The biggest footballing event for women’s football, the entire world will be glued to their television sets during the course of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

In the previous edition that took place in France, USA beat Netherlands in the finals, 2-0. Sweden had beaten England in the 3rd-4th place match and bagged the bronze medal. They would be looking to better the colour of their medal when they play in Australia and New Zealand.

A total of 9 cities have been chosen for this event and 10 venues have been shortlisted for this prestigious global event. 8 groups will be there with 4 teams in them. The table-toppers and the 2nd placed team in the group will proceed to the Round of 16.

Though formally, the FIFA Women’s World Cup started from 1991, the first unofficial World Cup dates back to 1970, when the tournament was held in 1970. Back in the 20th century, several countries had bans on women’s football.
