In August 2022, East Bengal FC bolstered their defense department by signing Lalchungnunga on loan from I-League club Sreenidi Deccan. The 22-year-old from Aizawl impressed the management and Head Coach Stephen Constantine of the Red and Gold Brigade and they have now extended the contract of the defender.
At the start of the 2023-24 football season, Lalchungnunga will become a permanent part of East Bengal FC. He will remain with the Red and Gold Brigade till the end of the 2025-26 season and is one of the most impressive Indian right-backs at the present moment.
East Bengal FC took to their social media handles to announce the signing of the young and talented defender.
Having made his youth career debut in Aizawl in 2019, Lalchungnunga made his senior team debut in the same year itself. He was then bought by Sreenidi Deccan in 2021 before being loaned out to East Bengal FC in 2022.
Lalchungnunga had made his debut for Sreenidi Deccan on 27th December 2021 against NEROCA FC. His team had unfortunately lost that game 2-3.
