Jamshedpur FC was dealt with a major blow when their star defender and skipper Peter Hartley left the club following mutual consent. The Men of Steel made absolutely no delay in filling up the huge void created by the absence of their former skipper. Aidy Boothroyd’s side immediately signed up former FC Goa defender, Dylan Fox.

The 28-year-old Australian defender will be joining Jamshedpur FC immediately and will look to change the dwindling fortunes of the defending Indian Super League (ISL) League Shield winners. Jamshedpur FC has had an underwhelming ISL 2022-23 season so far and are languishing in the 2nd last position in the points table.

Dylan Fox has been a part of Indian football previously and has played in the ISL. The Northern Irish-born footballer has plied his trade for NorthEast United FC and FC Goa. He has played a total of 31 matches in the top-tier league of Indian football and will be looking to use his experience to power Jamshedpur FC to better results in the remainder of the ISL 2022-23 season.

Aidy Boothroyd shared his delight after signing Dylan Fox

“Dylan is going to be very important for us. He is a very good defender and has the qualities that we need to continue to push up the table. I would like to welcome him to Jamshedpur FC and look forward to working with him at the club,” said Head Coach Aidy Boothroyd after signing Fox.

Dylan Fox himself expressed delight on his new signing and said that “he can’t wait to get started”.

“I’m very happy to join Jamshedpur FC. I can’t wait to get started, hit the ground running, and help the team make a strong finish to the end of the season. All the players as well as the boss have been very welcoming and I’m feeling completely at home,” said Dylan Fox.

The Red Miners have registered just 1 win in this season so far and have already played 11 games. Aidy Boothroyd’s side next lock horns with Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on 3rd January 2023.
