ISL 2022-23: Mumbai City FC Snatch Victory From The Jaws Of Defeat Against Jamshedpur FC

Mumbai City FC staged an empathic comeback in this match of Match week 17 of the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 against Jamshedpur FC to continue their unbeaten run. In what was looking to be Jamshespur FC’s game, immediately turned on its head as the Islanders mounted a late comeback to seal the fate of the game.

Lallianzuala Chhangte and Vikram Singh found the back of the net for Des Buckingham’s side and Boris Singh scored the lone goal for Jamshedpur FC. Even though there was stiff competition between the two sides in the first half, neither of them could score a goal.

Mumbai City FC looked a bit off-colour in the first half and failed to have a single shot on target. This was something quite unusual but they came out quite strongly in the second half, to pull the strings of the game to their favour and sink an already-struggling Jamshedpur FC.

Jamshedpur FC’s Boris Singh received a sensational through ball from Ritwik Das and then scored the goal for the Miners’, from a tight angle. Hard-work and perseverance paid off for Aidy Boothroyd’s men but the celebrations didn’t last for too long as Mumbai City FC staged a fantastic comeback.

At around the 80th minute, the man in form, Lallianzuala Chhangte netted the goal for Mumbai City FC. A low cross from Bipin Singh was received well by Chhangte and he found the back of the net.

Around the 86th minute of the game, Chhangte and Vikram Singh joined hands to net the second goal for Mumbai City FC. Chhangte gave a lovely through ball to Singh in the right and Singh lobbed the ball straight behind the custodian of Jamshedpur FC Rehenesh, from a distance.

Des Buckingham’s men scripted an unbelievable comeback and this one was for the ages! Mumbai City FC was brimming with resilience and they further solidified their position at the top of the ISL 2022-23 points table. They now have 42 points under their belt.
