The Juggernauts continue their dream run as they move to the 2nd position in the Indian Super League (ISL) points table. They toppled NorthEast United FC 2-1 to hand their 8th consecutive defeat in this season.

NorthEast United FC did score a goal in the game but it was not enough as Josep Gombau’s men secured a 2-1 win at their home turf. This was their third consecutive win and they seem to be on a roll.

Nandhakumar Sekar continued his impressive form as he scored his 4th goal of ISL 2022-23. Odisha FC had scored their first goal against NorthEast United FC in the 25th minute itself. However, the Highlanders levelled the square in the second half in the 60th minute. Roccharzela, who was brought in as a substitute scored the goal for NorthEast United FC.

However, things again went out of hand for the Highlanders when Jerry Mawihmingthanga scored the second goal for the Juggernauts and put them in pole position in the game. With this win, Odisha FC jumped to the 2nd position in ISL 2022-23. They now have 6 wins in 8 games and are on an absolute roll.

NorthEast United FC’s dismal run in ISL 2022-23 continues

On the other hand, there are contrasting fortunes for NorthEast United FC. They have failed to open their winning account in ISL 2022-23 and have lost 8 matches on the bounces. Everything is going wrong for Aidy Boothroyd’s men and their qualification chances are slipping out of their hands with every passing game.

It’s a double-header Saturday today and there will be two matches played. In the first game, Chennaiyin FC cross swords with Hyderabad FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. In the second game, Bengaluru FC will be hosting ATK Mohun Bagan at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. Both the matches promise to be riveting contests.
