The ultimate glory for English football fans, the Premier League is finally entering into another season. Premier League 2023-24 promises to ooze action and a lot of entertainment.
Manchester City, who are the defending champions of the prestigious Premier League title, will begin their title defence against Burnley, who have been newly promoted into the top-tier league of English football.
20-time Premier League winners and English football heavyweights Manchester United will kick-start their campaign on 14th August 2023 against the Wolverhampton Wanderers.
City pipped past Arsenal to finish as the table-toppers in the last season and mustered 89 points in 38 games. The Pep Guardiola coached side notched up 28 wins in 38 games and Ilkay Gundogan and Erling Haaland played a big role in guiding them to the top silverware.
Gundogan has completed a move to Guardiola’s former club, Barcelona. Erling Haaland had a fantastic season and it was no way less than a fairy-tale. Haaland scored 36 goals and broke the record for the most number of goals scored in a single season in the Premier League.
The Norwegian striker also scored the maximum number of goals in the UEFA Champions League 2022-23 and guided Manchester City to a title win. The Cityzens had completed a Treble, after they won this title.
Notably, earlier Manchester City had also won the FA Cup finals after defeating eternal rivals, Manchester United.
