BGMI teams across the country will compete in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS), with the victor taking home Rs 75 lakh and a prize pool of Rs 2 crore.

Befitting to the level of the tournament, JioCinema will now stream Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 live.

After obtaining the rights to live stream the IPL, international cricket events, and HBO programming, Mukesh Ambani-owned JioCinema has already taken over the OTT industry. 

Now that Krafton India, the developers of BGMI, have teamed with Mukesh Ambani’s JioCinema, the platform is anticipated to attract additional customers.

“Gaming fans can enjoy the live stream starting with the final round of The Grind from August 17-20, followed by Round 1 of BGIS 2023 streaming August 31 onwards,” the business declared in a statement. 

On JioCinema, the tournament’s Grand Finals will be broadcast from October 12 to October 14. According to the schedule, the bouts will be aired from 1 pm to 6 pm.

As the largest battle royale Esports event in India, BGIS will feature more than 2,000 teams vying for a prize fund of Rs 2 crore, with the victor taking home Rs 75 lakh.

“Last year, Skylightz Gaming staked a claim to a winning prize of Rs 50 lakh from the total prize pool of Rs 1 crore,” they said.

By reaching millions of viewers through JioCinema’s broad platform, the collaboration between Krafton India and JioCinema aims to enthrall gamers nationally and improve the gaming experience.

“BGIS will feature Hindi and English commentary for all preliminary matches and culminate in a grand finale,” Krafton added.

This is undoubtedly a welcome move and an indicator of eSports in India coming towards the mainstream sports category.

This partnership will also garner more attention towards BGMI and eSports in India as a whole.
