The launch date for the Minecraft 1.20 update was finally announced by Mojang. The game developer has been working on this future iteration of Minecraft for quite a while now.

It has an abundance of brand-new elements, including biomes, buildings, blocks, items, and creatures.

The Minecraft players have been patiently awaiting the release of the next update. Fortunately, they won’t have to wait long.

With this release, Mojang used a new strategy by gradually revealing its features. This was done to make sure that for the next release, they would only disclose those that were completely verified.

They have finished the snapshot phase and are now in the pre-release phase, where the Minecraft Trails and Tales update will shortly be released.

Minecraft 1.20 update release date

The update and news on Minecraft Legends were covered in a monthly video that Mojang posted on their YouTube channel on May 26, 2023.

Agnes Larsson finally entered the video and revealed Trails and Tales’ release date. On June 7, 2023, the Minecraft 1.20 update will be made available.

Players who are eager to get their hands on the update would undoubtedly want to know the precise timing.

However, Mojang has not disclosed it. Therefore, it may at least be inferred by looking at when some of the earlier updates have released in the past.

How to download the 1.20 update

Players may download updates for both game versions whenever Mojang releases them.

Java Edition users must open the official launcher before selecting a version from the list next to the play button.

They will discover a version labelled “latest release” there. ‘1.20’ will be seen under the version name, showing it is the update, if the creators have released it.

Players of the Bedrock Edition may search for the game in their device’s store app and update it there.

Only if and when the creators decide to release the installation will the update button show up.
