Before the PEL 2024, Xu “Jimmy” Yin-jun, a popular player of PUBG Mobile, unexpectedly accepted a contract with Wolves Esports, leaving Nova Esports.
The seasoned player spent more than four years competing with Nova Esports, where he won two PUBG Mobile World Championship championships.
Jimmy was purchased by Wolves Esports for $309K. He was listed for a starting price of $280,000 on the auction list. Additionally, they will be trying to establish their worth in the PUBG Mobile esports, where they haven’t been successful since their late 2022 debut.
Jimmy’s Exit From Nova Esports
Jimmy has a reputation as one of the scene’s top IGLs (In-Game Leaders).
In the last four years, he has assisted Nova Esports in winning several important trophies, including two PMGC 2020 and 2021 crowns.
Jimmy has been playing with Wolves Esports for the past four years, following a respectable tenure for Nova Esports. The well-known organization hopes to win the PEL 2024 Spring Season with his signing.
Wolves Esports has signed Ren from Tianba Esports in addition to Jimmy. Remember, the squad’s standout athlete, left the team after signing with JTeam.
Ahead of the PMGC 2022, Wolves acquired the SMG roster to make their debut in PUBG Mobile. They placed 11th in the Global Championship, however, which was a disappointing performance in their first significant competition.
Wolves Esports placed eighth in the PEL Summer and 16th in the PEL Spring in 2023. Additionally, the group performed poorly in the Regional Clash SEA vs. PEL competition, finishing in 16th place.
In a few months, the PEL 2024 Spring will get underway, and the Chinese teams will be looking to reclaim their power in the international PUBGM competitions.
For the first time, Jimmy will be competing against Paraboy and Order, two of his former comrades. Some of the top PUBGM athletes in the world are these players. The three of them combined to win the PEC 2019 and 2020 crowns, as well as two straight Global Championships.
