Topson will return to Tundra Esports as a midlaner, while 9Class will take over as the team’s new position four support.

Tundra Esports has made significant squad revisions in an effort to optimize their lineup for the 2024 season.

Following the disbandment of the newly formed squad from ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen was reinstated by Tundra Esports as their midlaner for the fresh formed lineup.

Having competed with Tundra from September 2023, Topson is a two-time TI (The International) winner. However, he stopped playing after Tundra Esports’ squad was dissolved following TI12.

Edgar “9Class” Naltakian, the organization’s newest position four support player, was also unveiled on January 7. Despite being relatively new to the professional world, 9Class has a strong skillset.

On the European leaderboard, he is placed sixth. It’s interesting to note that prior speculations suggested Topson and 9Class would be joining Tundra Esports.

Tundra Esports, the International 2022 champion, revealed their new midlaner and support players on Twitter on January 7.

Topson, the midlaner, returned to the club for the 2024 competitive season. This was after taking a hiatus after Tundra Esports’ dismal performance at The International 2023.

As one of the few support players on the top 100 Dota 2 European leaderboards, Russian player 9Class is in a league of his own.

Remarkably, 9Class held the second spot on the Dota 2 European leaderboard in the previous month. Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon, a position five support, will be joining 9Class.

The pair will shortly be providing assistance for Topson as well as two unidentified players, whose announcements are imminent.

Tundra Esports has announced that it will be competing in the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai closed qualifier on January 11th, according to a previous tweet from the group.

Topson, 9Class, Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko, Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov, and Egor “Xakoda” Lipartiya were rumored to be joining Tundra Esports earlier. With the confirmation from Topson and 9Class, the rumor has gained some more credibility.

It is reasonable to believe that Xakoda won’t be joining the team, though, given that Tundra has confirmed Whitemon’s spot on its 2024 squad. If the reports are accurate, Pure and MinD_ContRoL may still join Tundra.
