Vodafone Idea, an Indian telecommunications provider, has partnered with Team Vitality, a European esports organization, in an effort to develop the esports industry in the nation.

The extensive collaboration entails fan activations, event coordination, and content development. In the future, the two firms hope to “launch gaming contests and events,” as they also mentioned.

With Vodafone Idea stepping up its support of esports and Team Vitality increasing its footprint in India, this agreement bolsters the efforts of both sides.

Vodafone Idea, a prominent participant in the mobile game industry inside the nation, is renowned for providing Vi Games through its official app. The business has previously held competitions for mobile apps like Clash Royale and Free Fire.

Vi subscribers will be able to “participate in esports and allow exclusive access” to select Team Vitality competitions and teams, according to a press statement from the two companies.

The agreement also intends to provide doors for national esports talent. It involves master workshops, meet-and-greets with esports talent, and access to professional players.

The managing director of Team Vitality India, Randall Fernandez, continued, saying, “We are thrilled to announce our relationship with Vi. We are excited about our adventure together as we stand at the cusp where technology will propel gaming to new heights.“

“We will unlock new horizons searching for aspiring gaming talent across the length and breadth of the country, set new precedents, and create indelible marks within the esports industry,” he added.

While being mostly recognized for its activities in the EU, Team Vitality has been active in the Indian esports sector since 2021.

The company’s Call of Duty Mobile lineup qualified for the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship in 2023 after seeing some success both domestically and abroad.

Additionally, YouTube is the most popular gaming site in India, and Vitality has a roster of Indian broadcasters and artists that produce content for it.
