Australia was expected to come up with a strategy to dismiss Indian batsmen on the final day at The Gabba. And, the host bowlers integrated bodyline strategy in order to dominate Indian batsman. Interestingly, the Indian batsmen were also ready for the same. Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara sustained serious blows on the body while batting and it was quite an unpleasant sight to watch for a fan from outside.

At the beginning of Day-5, India required 328 runs to win the game and Australia needed all 10 wickets. On a dramatic grand finale, Australian bowlers got off the mark really well. They dismissed the dangerous Indian opener, Rohit Sharma, quite early. He scored only 7 odd runs before heading towards the pavilion. But, after that Chteshwar Pujara and Shubhman Gill played some astonishing cricket.

Cheteshwar Pujara Determination On Day-5 Receives Applauds

The duo got settled and played really well on Day-5. They stitched a brilliant partnership of 114 runs for the second wicket and kept Team India in the game. In the end, Shubhma Gill was dismissed by Nathan Lyon and missed his 1st international ton by just 9 runs. Although the partnership was brilliant. But, the Indian middle-order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara had was stuck with brutal bouncers on the body as Aussie pacers adopted a bodyline bowling approach.

He was hit on the helmet twice with deadly bouncers, once on his biceps. Also, he received a nasty blow on the finger and looked in severe pain. The physio walked out to provide the Indian batsman with aid. For a moment, it looked like Pujara will soon walkout from the ground. But, that was not the case, he took all blows on the body and kept playing through all pain.

The social media was filled with a post praising Pujara’s determination to win the game for Team India. Meanwhile, the Aussie players had to face the heat for their bodyline approach.
