Rajasthan Royals (RR) finished as the runners-up in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

The Sanju Samson led Rajasthan side were very close to winning the IPL and fell down in front of the eventual champions, Gujarat Titans (GT) in the finals.

The 2008 champions of IPL have a strong core and the Indian players regularly play in the Indian cricket team.

Rajasthan Royals would be definitely looking to extend their dominant authority in IPL 2023 as they look to win their 2nd title.

Even though the side will be without the services of their star Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna, they have enough backups in the bowling department.

Rajasthan will be kick-starting their IPL campaign on 2nd April 2023 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

They will be playing their final IPL league stage game on 14th May 2023 against Punjab Kings.

In this article, we take a look at 3 reasons why Rajasthan Royals might win the upcoming IPL 2023:

1. Presence of a strong Indian core

The Indian core of the Rajasthan Royals is extremely potent. Yuzvendra Chahal, Sanju Samson and Ravichandran Ashwin would be key cogs in the wheels of the Rajasthan Royals side.

7 of the 11 players in an IPL team are Indian players therefore they play a big role in the performance of a team.

Some of the uncapped players in the form of Murugan Ashwin, Kuldeep Sen and Riyan Parag are strong names in the side.

2. Exceptional opening pair

The opening pair of Rajasthan Royals in the form of Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal/Yashasvi Jaiswal are an exceptional pair.

In IPL 2022, they played beautifully and gave rollicking starts to the franchise.

Jos Buttler also finished as the leading run scorer in the tournament and smashed 4 centuries in the tournament.

He will once again be one of the strongest candidates for the coveted Orange Cap.

3. Good overseas players of Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals bought Jason Holder for Rs. 5.75 crores. The other foreign players in their team include the likes of Jos Buttler, Adam Zampa and Shimron Hetmeyer.

With such world-class overseas players in their ranks, Rajasthan have a good chance of winning IPL 2023.

They also have Kiwi left arm seamer Trent Boult who can bowl well in the powerplay and in the death overs.

He swings the ball and is one of the best pacers ever produced by New Zealand.

We feel the 4 overseas players of Rajasthan that will be in the playing XI are Jos Buttler, Jason Holder, Shimron Hetmeyer and Trent Boult.
