CSK vs SRH 2023

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) once again went ballistic in this Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 game and registered a convincing 7 wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The match was extremely well judged and executed by skipper MS Dhoni and he guided the Yellow Army to their 4th win.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have somewhat lost the plot in their campaign so far in this season and they need to go back to the drawing board and fix a few pertinent issues.

The game was a low-scoring one and was pretty one-sided as CSK flexed their dominant muscles in this game. In this article, we take a look at the 3 talking points of the CSK vs SRH game in IPL 2023:

1. CSK’s openers continue to fire on all cylinders

One of the plus points of CSK in this season has been their superb opening pair. The likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway have been sensational to say the least and have been delivering the goods consistently.

While Ruturaj Gaikwad crunched 35 runs in 30 balls, Kiwi opener Devon Conway scored 77* runs in just 57 balls. The good performances from the opening pair of CSK have allowed the middle-order to breathe and play according to their strengths.

2. Mayank Agarwal’s woes continue

After being given a different role in this CSK vs SRH game, Mayank Agarwal still had the same old story. He couldn’t cash in on this opportunity and eventually failed big time. The flamboyant opener scored only 2 runs before being stumped by MS Dhoni.

In 6 games in IPL 2023 so far, Agarwal has managed to amass only 115 runs at a paltry average of 19.17. He really needs to fix his form, otherwise the management would not think twice before replacing him.

3. Ravindra Jadeja’s masterclass of a performance

Ravindra Jadeja and the Chepauk stadium’s love story is literally relationship goals. Once again, the talismanic all-rounder of CSK played extremely well and had a top-notch performance.

Jadeja won the player of the match award for bagging 3 wickets and for arresting the run flow of the Orange Army. The 34-year-old cricketer is undoubtedly one of MS Dhoni’s potent weapons and he has been prolific with both the bat and the ball.
