RR vs RCB match report

Royal Challengers Bangalore showed their class by bouncing back from two consecutive losses to earn a crucial two points in the IPL 2023 points table. The team emerged victorious against Rajasthan Royals in Match 60 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, with a comfortable win.

Run machine Faf du Plessis anchored the RCB innings with a composed 55 off 44 balls, his seventh fifty of IPL 2023, while Glenn Maxwell and Anuj Rawat played impressive innings under pressure, scoring 54 off 33 and 29* off 11, respectively, to help RCB post a competitive total of 171/5.

RCB bowlers then dominated the game, with Wayne Parnell taking three wickets for just ten runs, as they scalped five RR wickets inside the Powerplay, leaving the hosts struggling. The home team never really recovered and was bowled out for just 59 under 11 overs, giving RCB a comprehensive win.

RR vs RCB match highlights:

The chase was doomed from the start, with Yashasvi Jaiswal out for a duck off the second ball of the innings, followed by Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, and Devdutt Padikkal, who was introduced as an Impact Player at No. 5.

RR lost half their side inside six overs, as RCB’s bowlers proved too much for them. Michael Bracewell, Shimron Hetmyer, and Karn Sharma all contributed wickets as RR fell for a meagre 59.

RCB made three changes to their starting XI, with Bracewell, Parnell, and Sharma replacing Hazlewood, Vyshak, and Hasaranga. Rajasthan Royals made one change, with Adam Zampa replacing Trent Boult.

The game saw RCB captain Faf du Plessis winning the toss and choosing to bat first. The team struggled in the early overs, with Rajasthan Royals bowlers keeping the runs in check.

However, Faf du Plessis finally changed gears, cutting one through point for a four and pulling one over wide long-on for a six to give RCB a push.

Glenn Maxwell and Anuj Rawat provided further impetus to the innings, and despite RR’s efforts, RCB managed to post a competitive total of 171/5.

Overall, RCB showed excellent form in all aspects of the game, and their bowlers, in particular, were on fire, making it difficult for RR to get anywhere near their total.

The win will be a significant morale boost for RCB, who will be looking to carry this form forward in the remainder of the tournament.
