Gujarat vs Chennai

The stage is all set for the epic and marquee Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 curtain raiser. Gujarat Titans (GT) will begin their title defence against multiple-time winner of IPL, Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The stakes couldn’t have been higher!

The opening game of IPL 2023 will be taking place at the historic and iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, since yesterday the weather forecast of Ahmedabad wasn’t promising.

It rained yesterday in the capital of Gujarat and there was a cloud of uncertainty hovering over the inaugural game of the 16th edition of IPL.

Both teams had a practice session earlier yesterday and there was a heavy shower that played spoilsport to their last practice session. Players had to run inside and take cover while the groundsmen were in full action to stop the heavy downpour.

This naturally was heavily concerning as a lot of eyeballs were on this game. Ahmedabad will be the centre of the cricketing universe today as they see the opening game of the world’s most popular T20 franchise league.

What is the weather forecast at Ahmedabad?

Fans need not worry as the signs are pretty positive as of now. The rains have stopped and there are not a lot of chances for rain, today evening. Match 1 of IPL 2023 could go on smoothly without much disturbances from the rains.

The temperature is expected to be around 23 degrees Celsius during the match with a little bit of humidity. Thus, the match will go on uninterrupted.

Gujarat Titans aim to defend their title

In IPL 2022, Gujarat made an instant impact in their debut season as they lifted the title under the superb captaincy of Hardik Pandya. They beat Rajasthan Royals in the finals and would be hoping to emulate the same.

However, they would be without the services of their star middle-order batter, David Miller. Miller is presently on national duty in the ODI series between South Africa and Netherlands. He is expected to be back for the 3rd game of Gujarat on 9th April 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
