Gujarat Titans (GT) bounced back to winning ways after a close finish against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali. Rahul Tewatia once again kept his nerves and scored a boundary off the second-last delivery of the innings to take the defending champions up and over the line.

The defending champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Gujarat had a good start when openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill were off to a blistering start. Saha scored a quick-fire knock of 30 runs in just 19 balls.

He also crossed 2500 runs in the IPL and this is a noteworthy milestone for the veteran batter. Middle-order batter of Gujarat David Miller too contributed for Gujarat Titans and scored 17* runs.

The South African batter too crossed 2500 runs in the IPL and he would be proud and happy with this performance of his.

Wriddhiman Saha, who has previously played for franchises such as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), now has 2513 runs in 148 IPL games.

33-year-old Miller has mustered 2505 runs in 108 matches. The hard-hitting middle-order batter has an IPL career average of 37.95. His highest score in the IPL is 101* in just 38 balls. It came against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), way back in 2013.

Gujarat Titans next lock horns with Rajasthan Royals

The next assignment for the defending champions of KKR will be on 16th April 2023. It will be taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and it will start from 7:30 PM (IST).

The Hardik Pandya led side are in the 3rd position in IPL 2023. In 4 games, they have notched up 3 wins and have 1 loss in their kitty.

If they can continue with the same prowess, then they might as well defend their crown again.
