As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is going on, there are several selection dilemmas for the Indian selectors. The wicketkeepers, the all-rounders and the pacers are a few areas where the selectors need to do a lot of thinking.

Mumbai Indians (MI), led by Hardik Pandya, are not having the best IPL season. Despite their abysmal performances, there are a lot of MI players who deserve a place in that plane to West Indies and USA.

In this article, we take a look at 3 Mumbai Indians players who deserve a place in the Indian side for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024:

1. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma

The undisputed talisman of Indian cricket, Rohit Sharma is the captain of the Indian T20I side and will be shepherding the troops in West Indies and USA. He was also the captain of India in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, where India had lost to Australia in the finals.

Sharma was also the captain of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 side of India which had lost to England in the semi-finals. The swashbuckling opener of India will be a key player to watch out for in the upcoming marquee event.

2. Jasprit Bumrah

As of 28th April 2024, Bumrah is the joint-leading wicket-taker of IPL 2024 and has bagged 14 wickets.

Despite the incessant hate and trolling, Hardik Pandya is a genuine match-winner of India. He can bat and bowl and has a razor-sharp cricketing brain. Pandya deserves a place in the Indian T20I squad and should be the deputy of Rohit Sharma.

The 30-year-old Indian all-rounder has so far played 92 T20Is for India and has mustered 1348 runs and has taken 73 wickets. He will be a vital cog in the wheels of the Indian cricket team.
