One of the most astute cricketers in India, Ravichandran Ashwin has made a grand homecoming to his former Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Ashwin was snapped up by CSK for a whopping amount of Rs. 9.75 crores and will be a key player to watch out for.

Ashwin had represented CSK in 8 IPL seasons from IPL 2008 till IPL 2015. He then represented Rising Pune Super Giants (RPSG) for 2 seasons till IPL 2017 and was snapped up by Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings) in IPL 2018. After 2 seasons, he was traded to Delhi Capitals (DC) and then again after 2 seasons, the veteran bowling all-rounder was picked up by Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions.

Ravichandran Ashwin hails from Chennai and knows the conditions of the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, inside-out. He has played a lot of domestic matches in Chennai and is accustomed to bowling in the spin-friendly conditions out there.

Moreover, he is one of the best spinners in the country presently and he will be able to extract out purchase from the slow and sluggish conditions at the Chepauk Stadium.

2. Ravichandran Ashwin has a razor-sharp cricketing mind
