Why the Disruption?
On May 7, India launched precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to last month’s Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians.
As a security precaution, airports in Dharamsala, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jammu, Leh, and Srinagar have been shut, with over 200 flights cancelled and 18 airports temporarily closed.

Punjab Kings are already stationed in Dharamsala and face no immediate travel issues, allowing them to continue preparations for their remaining home games.
Delhi Capitals reached Dharamsala before the airport shutdown and will play as scheduled, but will likely travel by road to New Delhi for their next fixture due to ongoing airspace restrictions.

With both Dharamsala and Chandigarh airports closed, MI may need to fly to Delhi and then undertake a 470 km, 9-hour road journey to reach the venue.
BCCI’s Response
A senior BCCI official described the situation as “fluid,” with the board closely monitoring government advisories and ready to adapt as needed.
IPL chairman Arun Dhumal confirmed that while the league will continue as scheduled, team travel plans-especially for matches in Dharamsala-will be adjusted in line with national security measures.
