But, there were instances on the field that hogged the limelight. One of those that tickled the funny bone of the cricket fans was when Shikhar Dhawan hilariously went on his knees after Dinesh Karthik appealed for a stumping.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to field first. Kolkata Knight Riders opener’s once again failed in getting their team off to a good start. Shubman Gill played a sluggish knock of 43 runs in 38 balls. Credits to Andre Russell, who stormed into the DC bowlers and helped KKR in posting a respectable total on the scoreboard of 154 runs in stipulated 20 overs.

During the chase, DC opener Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan took the charge from the word go against KKR bowlers. They stitched a match-winning partnership of 132 runs that took the game very far from KKR’s reach.
Meanwhile, an instance happened on the field that tickled the funny bone of the fans. In the 12th over, Dinesh Karthik dislodged the bails when Shikhar Dhawan was on strike and made a hilarious appeal of stumping. And, at the same moment, Gabbar went on his knees.
It was an amusing sight for the cricket fans and both the players started laughing for committing such an act in between the high tension game. In the replays that Shikhar Dhawan never stepped outside the crease and the umpire adjudged him not out.
In the match, Prithvi Shaw was nominated Man of the Match for scoring 82 runs off 41 balls. From KKR, Pat Cummins finished as the leading wicket-taker of the match with 3 wickets in his four-over spell.
