AB de Villiers, who shares a strong bond with his former IPL teammate Virat Kohli, backed the latter for making a good comeback with the bat. He feels few bad games will not make Kohli a poor batsman.

The cricket fans have been waiting for a long for Kohli to bounce back strongly with the bat. But, he has so far failed in living up to the expectations of the fans. In the previous game, he managed fifty with the bat. But, scoring a half-century in a T20 game on 53 balls will never help a side in winning the match.

This was the reason why Challengers lost their previous match to Gujarat Titans. Now, AB de Villiers has come forward backing his RCB friend Virat Kohli. He said that a batsman can never become bad in a day or two. The former Proteas player feels that it is always difficult for a player to come back. But, Virat Kohli will soon start striking the ball like old-gold days.

“As a batsman, you are only one or two bad knocks away from bad form. If it keeps coming at you it is difficult to bounce back from it,” de Villiers told AFP news agency

“I cannot put a percentage to it but it is the mind and power of the mind which is the main battle,” he said.

“You do not become a bad player overnight. Virat would know it and I know it. I think it’s the way you think and set your mind.

de Villiers mentioned that any player can find a way out of the poor form if they are fresh mind. Otherwise, it becomes way more difficult for a player to bounce back strongly.

“You need a clear mind and fresh energy whenever you play and then you can find a way out of a hole,” he added.

RCB is currently in 6th position in the league table. They have lost three consecutive games in a row and will be looking to get back on track.
