Although, management implemented some big changes after COVID entered their camp. But, still, the hosts managed an easy win over the visitors.

In the post-match conference, Rohit Sharma, the new full-time Indian skipper said that he wants to make his side better and better with every game. He added that everyone in the team wants to win and there is a great atmosphere back in the dressing room.

He also hints at making some shocking decisions going ahead if the situation demands.

“We want to keep getting better as a team. The end goal is we should be able to achieve what the team wants. If the team requires us to do something different, have to do it. Don’t think we have to change a lot. All I will ask of the players is to challenge yourself and be innovative,” he said in the post-match presentation.

Rohit Sharma also opined that they could have easily finished the game without losing many wickets during 1st ODI. Also, he feels the team needs to improve on taking wickets with consistency during the games.

“I don’t believe in a perfect game. You cannot be perfect. We want to keep getting better. All in all a great effort from everyone. We ticked all boxes. Pretty happy with that. With that bat we could’ve finished with not so many wickets, that is one. Could also have created pressure on their lower order. Don’t want to take any credit away,” he further said.
