He Has Dropped More Catches Than Any Other Keeper In The World,’ Ricky Ponting Mocks Rishabh Pant Sloppy Wicketkeeping

Rishabh Pant is not having one of the best Test series with the bat in South Africa. He has not done much but scored only 59 runs with the willow in his last four innings. He is under the scanner for his poor shot selection while batting. Now, former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha has taken a slight dig over the Indian wicketkeeper.

Rishabh Pant’s performance is horrific in the last five Test appearances. He has notched only one fifty with the bat in the last five Tests. He is an exceptional player and he has achieved a lot at the age of just 24 years. But, he let’s team down on the majority of the occasions. During the 2nd Test, after getting poked by South African batsman Rassie Van Der Dussen, the Indian wicketkeeper played a rash stroke and got dismissed.

India lost that game by 7 wickets and now the series has come down to a level. Now, Pragyan Ojha has taken a hotshot on the southpaw for his poor batting approach. He took to his official Twitter handle and shared a post that read.

“If #siraj is not available for tomorrow’s game, #ishant should play. It will be very surprised if he doesn’t. Unfortunately, #vihari will make way for #virat. #pant with his shot selection has forced himself from being a postpaid connect to a prepaid! #SAvIND #3rdtest.”

The former Indian spinner also asserted that Team India should pick experienced Ishant Sharma for the upcoming series decider as a replacement for injured Mohammed Siraj. In the press conference, Virat Kohli clarified that he still needs to sit with the head coach and vice-captain in order to have a look at the changes. Also, it is now confirmed that Kohli is going to play in the 3rd Test against South Africa.
