Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff suffered a major injury while shooting for a film Top Gear, which is a BBC show. Flintoff has been the presenter of this show since 2019. Flintoff was shooting at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey when he suffered the fatal injury.

Andrew Flintoff was immediately looked at by the medical team present at the spot and was soon airlifted to a nearby hospital. Notably, the 45-year-old former England all-rounder was filming in conditions that were very icy.

“Freddie was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track this morning – with crew medics attending the scene immediately. He has been taken to hospital for further treatment and we will confirm more details in due course,” said the BBC.

According to The Sun, the injuries suffered by Flintoff were not “life-threatening”. “All the usual health and safety measures were in place for filming too. Freddie was taken to hospital by air ambulance shortly afterwards. Filming has been postponed for now and all anyone cares about is Freddie recovering,” said a source close to The Sun.

Andrew Flintoff was a very decorated player

Andrew Flintoff is one of the greatest all-rounders to have graced the sport for England. He has played 141 ODIs, 7 T20Is and 79 Test matches for England. ‘Freddie’ as he is popularly known as, was a very attacking batter and was also a very lethal bowler. He also has played 3 IPL games in IPL 2009 for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

In the 2005 Ashes, Flintoff hogged the limelight with his stupendous performances. He bagged 24 wickets in that series and helped England lift the Ashes for the first time since 1989.

In 2019, Andrew Flintoff had suffered another injury during the shoot of the very same show. He survived a 125-mph car crash and was absolutely fine after the accident as he did not suffer any injuries.
