Date:

At the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, India overcame Australia in the second T20I International after the game had reached a Super Over. India’s victory brought the five-match series to a 1-1 tie.

India tied the game following a thrilling last over after Australia scored 187/1 in 20 overs. Smriti Mandha, who had earlier struck 79 off 49 balls, assisted India in scoring 20 runs in the Super Over.

Australia’s response was limited to 16 as a result of Renuka Singh’s methodical bowling performance. Tahlia McGrath and Beth Mooney earlier destroyed the Indian bowling attack with their aggressive batting to propel Australia to a total of 187/1. On 82, Mooney continued to be unbeaten, and on 70, McGrath was also unbroken. Australia lost for the first time in 2022.

The team led by Harmanpreet Kaur started with the same lineup. The Australian team gave international caps to Heather Graham and Phoebe Litchfield. In the XI, they took the position of Grace Harris and the hurt Jess Jonassen. At 1-1, the series is now deadlocked. The third T20 match will take place on December 14.
