Indian cricketer in England tested positive, quarantined- Reports

COVID-19 has once again breached the bio-bubble and this time Indian cricketer has been tested positive. Team India is currently in England for playing five-match Test series that is slated to begin from August 4. Ahead of the much-important series one Indian cricketer from the squad has contracted the virus as per the reports.

Sports World has been heavily impacted by the effects of coronavirus. Everything came down to a standstill after the emergence of the novel virus back in 2020. Towards the end of the year, things started moving towards the new normal. However, the second COVID-19 wave did even bigger damage and many people died due to the same.

Indian Cricketer Tested COVID-19 Positive

As per the reports, the Indian cricketer had a sore throat and he was asked to get a COVID-19 test as soon as possible. Surprisingly, the player was tested positive. It is said all the players and support staff that came in contact with the player have been asked to isolate themselves for a span of three days.

The news got viral like fire in the forest and the media quizzed selector Chetan Sharma and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on which player was tested COVID-19 positive. But, both the individuals remained tight-lipped over the matter.

The delay variant of coronavirus is making things from bad to worse for everyone. Recently, seven members of the England squad were tested positive that included three players and four staff members. This instance forced ECB to announce their new squad for the limited-overs series against Pakistan.

The Indian cricket team is in England for the past month. They played the WTC final on 18th June against New Zealand. Post prestigious final, Virat Kohli & Co. is slated to play five-match Test series against England. Meanwhile, they got a gap of more than a month and BCCI gave them permission to leave bio-bubble in order to enjoy their trip. However, they also asked to join by mid-July for the maiden series of 2nd season of the World Test Championship.

And, Indian cricketers enjoyed their time by watching the recently Euro Cup 2021. Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah shared their still directly from the ground watching different games. And, unknown Indian cricketer needs might have contracted the coronavirus from outside the bio-bubble.
