41-time Ranji Trophy winners Mumbai has announced their squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2022-23. The side has some potent names and has the potential to add another silverware to Mumbai’s glorious domestic history.

The 17-member squad of Mumbai is peppered with some young and exciting talents. Ajinkya Rahane will don the captaincy hat for Mumbai. The experienced campaigner would be hoping to lead his side to another Ranji Trophy win.

He would be happy as his side will be bolstered with the presence of Suryakumar Yadav. Yadav is a mainstay of the Indian cricket team in the white-ball format. He is also the number 1 batter in the T20I rankings as per the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Yadav has recently revealed that he has intentions of playing Test cricket for India and will therefore play in the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season for Mumbai. The talented group of cricketers in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Prithvi Shaw, Arman Jaffer, and Sarfraz Khan all find a place in the squad. They would be hoping to put on some exemplary performances in order to impress the Indian selectors for their selection.

Suryansh Shedge and Musheer Khan have been called up for the first time. They were impressed with their performances in the U-25 category. It will be interesting to see them play for the senior Mumbai team.

Mumbai kick-starts their group-stage encounter on 13th December 2022 with a game against Andhra Pradesh. The match is slated to begin at 9:30 AM (IST).

The heavyweights in the Ranji Trophy competition have been slotted in Elite Group B. They will be locking horns with Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Hyderabad, Maharashtra, Saurashtra, and Tamil Nadu.
