Shubman Gill Prefers Playing In World Test Championship Final Over World T20 Final

Shubman Gill is part of Team India’s squad that will travel to England for playing the World Test Championship final. And, he looks really excited to be part of the game. In an interview, the young Indian opener opened by saying that playing in the World Test Championship final is a big thing for him than playing in the T20 World Cup final.

The Punjab-born player made his international debut from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21. He was picked in the side as a replacement for the out-of-form Prithvi Shaw. Shubman Gill made fifty in his debut inning in red-ball cricket and carried his good batting form throughout the series.

However, since then the youngster is failing to score impressive knock with the bat. Also, he didn’t have a great IPL 2021 with Kolkata Knight Riders. The young batsman got some good starts but he failed in converting those into big knocks. During the lucrative league, fans criticized him for showing poor temperament and short selection.

Still, he has been picked by the selectors for the World Test Championship final that is slated to be held in England starting from June at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. In an interview given to ESPNcricinfo, Shubman Gill revealed his excitement of playing in the prestigious maiden WTC final.

Meanwhile, Gill also answered one of the questions that he would like to teach the FIFA game to Indian skipper Virat Kohli. As per him, the latter always loses games to him.
