Washington Sundar Ruled Out Of England Test Series, India Suffers Major Blow

India has suffered a major blow as Washington Sundar has been ruled out from the five-match Test series due to a finger injury. Earlier, standby bowler Avesh Khan had also sustained an injury during practice. The series is just 2 weeks away from its commencement and India has suffered a major blow as their young all-rounder has been sidelined from the five-match series.

The visitors’ dugout is marred with series of injuries from Shubman Gill to Avesh Khan to now Washington Sundar. The young Indian opener sustained a stress fracture in his hand. And, he recently returned and shared a still directly from the flight after landing in the country. BCCI had informed everyone about the same through their media release.

Washington Sundar Ruled Out Of England Test Series

It was expected that the board will soon announce his replacement but that was not the case. Now, Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul are the preferred candidates to open for Team India in the 5-match series against England.

Now, Team India has suffered another major blow as their star all-rounder Washington Sundar has sustained an injury in his finger as per the reports of Times of India. Due to which he will not be available for the five-match series against England.

Only the good news for the Indian team is that Rishabh Pant, who contracted COVID-19 recently, has joined the side ahead of the series. Also, he will be available for the series opener against England.

The five-match series is an important series from the perspective of both teams. It will mark the commencement of the 2nd edition of the World Test Championship. And, both the teams will look to get off the mark with win in the series opener slated to begin on 4th August.
